Hampton Hill has some fascinating history. Who could imagine such a peaceful neighbourhood has seen highwaymen, gibbets, “habitations of the most wretched kind” and Luftwaffe bombs.
The village has only been a residential area for around 200 years. It used to be an area of common ground touching the southern corner of Hounslow Heath, a favourite haunt of highwaymen, where locals could graze their animals.
Now Hampton Hill is a thriving community of around 10,000 people supporting over 200 businesses. An lot has changed.
